Model Policy on Third-Party Reporting



The (agency) investigates or refers for investigation all third-party reports of sexual abuse and sexual harassment on behalf of a resident. Reports may originate with family members, the public, or other interested parties. Information on reporting is available in a variety of ways including staff and volunteer training materials, web sites, posters, and printed materials for family members and the public. The agency specifies the web sites where this information can be found.

The facility refers those reporting abuse to the appropriate legal authorities in cases of sexual abuse.

The facility administration ensures that third-party reporters and the youth involved are notified in writing of results at the close of an investigation.
